In 1949 LEGO became the leading brand for construction and building toys due to their concept for a form of interlocking plastic brick. Thousands of LEGO sets in a variety of themes have since been released, catering to every LEGO fan from Batman, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Minecraft. Although slight design alterations have been made to LEGO pieces over the years, each piece is still made compatible in some way.
